With building outline and room uses changing and new assets being installed regularly, the job of a fire officer to manage the risk is a constant battle. Knowing what fire assets you have and where these are is a must for you to ensure the right protection and response tactics are in place.
But it’s impossible to be sure of this without up-to-date information to hand when you need it most. Our bespoke fire surveys can give you the information you need to protect your properties, and the support to maintain them.
How we complete your project
Our experienced fire surveyors will liaise with you to build a detailed survey scope that will determine the information to be collected, such as the location and type of firefighting equipment, signage, doors, emergency lighting and more.
The surveys will identify where your assets are, what condition they’re in and add details to drawings that can allow for bespoke fire evacuation plans to be created, resulting in comprehensive information so you can manage your properties, even when they change.
We can provide your information in a range of formats, such as detailed CAD drawings, Excel spreadsheets or as an upload to your CAFM system.
With a comprehensive set of drawings you can better manage your fire risk plans and make them more efficient, potentially reducing cost.
Your drawings will contain all of the information collected, which will allow you to create bespoke evacuation plans. You’ll be able to improve the efficiency of your on-going risk assessments and audits and have closer liaison with your colleagues. They can incorporate your fire protection needs and allow for fast adjustments when your building uses and outlines change.
If you use our fire survey alongside our fire compartmentation survey service, we can merge your drawings and give you an even more accurate picture of your estate.
Buildings are constantly changing meaning you are regularly forced to audit and update your information, resulting in less time to conduct day-to-day audits and deal with new risks as they arise.
Our regular update & audit service provides on-going support, including a rolling inspection programme which will maintain the accuracy of your information.
Using an agreed audit schedule we will conduct an inspection of your estates over a fixed time frame, such as three or five years, depending on the size of your building and how it’s used.
We will also liaise closely with you and your estates colleagues so we can adjust the audits so that areas of known change can be audited sooner, ensuring you have accurate information as soon as changes occur.
"The reports and photo evidence produced have shown us what needs to be dealt with fast, helping us to protect the safety of our staff, patients and visitors and organise our budget. The drawings are easy to understand, which helps us with our day-to-day duties."
