Fire Risk Assessments

Property owners and managers have a responsibility to ensure their property assets comply with current fire legislation.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 introduced in October 2006, for non-domestic premises stated a Responsible Person (RP) will be responsible not only for the safety of employees, but for that of any person lawfully on the premises, or in the immediate vicinity of the premises and at risk from a fire on the premises. The RP must make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks and identify the measures needed to comply with the requirements and prohibitions imposed on them by the Order.  Where there is no employer in any premises, the occupier or owner of the premises is the responsible person.

Aligning with the order and following the PAS79 methodology, Topscan are able to carry out Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) that take into account the type and use of the premises, the persons who use or may use the premises, and the risks associated with that use. We closely engage with clients prior to the commencement of an FRA to understand any issues or concerns the client may have, agree the scope of the survey and set out the format and clarity of the report to follow within which we will rank non-compliant and high-risk zones in order of severity, so you’ll be able to see what needs urgent attention.
