3D laser scanning
Our Point Cloud 3D Laser Scanner takes one million measurements per second. This captures everything during the scanning process, giving you an accurate model of your building.
The level of accuracy that our 3D ‘point cloud’ laser scans provide is simply not possible with standard surveying equipment.
As well as being incomparably accurate, it captures every single visible detail during the scanning process -meaning you have a true ‘as built’ model of the building.
Upon completion of the site work the raw scans are processed into a single 3D image and our surveyors will work with you to produce a Revit model to you specifications. The laser scanner also captures colour imagery of the area it has scanned enabling us to produce highly accurate 360 virtual walkthroughs of your building.
Our clients have found these particularly useful for the staff operating their helpdesk as it enables them to be virtually in a space assessing requirements and any health and safety issues instantly whilst avoiding unnecessary visits to the area itself.
Below is an example of how our 3D laser scanning has helped provide detail for a recent topographical survey.
"We have found Topscan's point cloud surveys particularly useful as not only do they provide accurate building measurements but also a photographic record of the existing buildings which has been invaluable on some of our heritage building projects."
